Wheat is the staple food of the people. It is consumed in a very large quantity. Among all the types of grains used in daily food, wheat is the best and due to its quality, wheat is the king of grains.
Wheat is called by many names.

Wheat is grown in good quantity in Gujarat. Winter wheat is known as ”Ravi Pak”. Well-drained black soil is more suitable for ”Ravi Pak”. Black soil is more suitable for wheat. Wheat plants do not grow more than two hands high. Their stalks are hollow. They grow tubers and in those tubers there are wheat grains. The green tubers ( poke ) of wheat are roasted and made to eaten.

Generally, wheat can be eaten throughout the year. Wheat is sweet, cold, expels wind and bile, heavy, expels phlegm, gives strength, is viscous, binds broken bones, nourishes, improves the complexion of the body, creates appetite, and brings stability.

- The iron found in wheat bread helps in eliminating anemia in the body.

- Wheat dishes are made with ghee, jaggery, and sugar. Wheat bran (broken-small grains) is very nutritious. It is used to give strength to weak and sick people.
Some healthy recipes:
1 Broken wheat khichdi
Keep flame on & add oil in cooker mustard, Jira, garlic, green mirchi, Karry patta, routine masala, onion and broken wheat with water sufficient.
Need 3whistle.
After 5 minutes can open & mix well. Serve it.
- 1 cup Broken wheat
- 2 1/2 cup water
- 2 Tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1/2 tsp jira
- 1 stem curry patta
- 2 green mirchi cutt
- 1/4 tsp Hing
- 1/2 tsp Haldi
- 1 Tsp Red mirch powder
- 1 cut onion
- 3 pod Garlic
2. Wheat Fadda(broken) Dhokla:
First of all, put wheat flour in a wheat flour mill, add curd to it, stir it, add 3-4 spoons of water and keep it for 7-8 hours.
Then add the above spices, baking soda, salt, 2 teaspoons of oil, mix it, apply oil in a dish and spread the khira.
Let the steam sit for 10-15 minutes.
After it cools down, cut it into pieces and pour the filling on top.
Add coriander on it. And the dhokla is ready.
- 100 grams wheat flour
- 50 grams wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons rava
- 3-4 tablespoons curd
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetid
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2 teaspoons pickle masala
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Water as required
- Oil
- Salt as per taste
- Coriander
- 3-4 teaspoons oil for frying
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 7-8 neem leaves
3. Wheat Flour Churma Lado
Mix the powdered sugar and wheat flour in a bowl: – Fry the handfuls of wheat flour… Mix the powdered pepper… powdered sugar, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and store the powdered mixture in the fridge.
Now add enough hot ghee to make a laddu and mix it. Now take enough laddu dough between 2 hands…. Press it and make a ball… & roll it round and make a nice laddu & put it on a plate and knock it down… In this way it will become a seat for laddu… In this way, make all the laddus.
Now take poppy seeds in 1 dish & roll the laddus in it & take it out in a serving dish. In this way roll all the laddus in poppy seeds and take it out in a serving dish.
- 2 bowls wheat flour powder (wheat flour made by frying handfuls)
- 1 bowl household brown sugar.
